Invisalign®
What is Invisalign®? How does it help straighten my teeth?
Invisalign® also known as clear aligner is the clear method to straighten your teeth or close gaps without traditional braces. Invisalign® clear aligners consists of a series of clear polyurethane plastic tray that have been formed to fit your teeth. These aligner trays were generated by computer simulation to move your teeth with gradual and gentle forces. You wear each set of aligner trays for about 1-2 weeks, and as you progress to the next set of aligners in the series, your teeth will move little by little until they become straight. Invisalign® clear aligners should be worn for at least 22 hours/day and only be removed during eating, brushing, or flossing.
What is the difference between braces and Invisalign®?
The traditional metal or clear braces are bonded or glued onto the teeth and are not removable during the length of treatment. Invisalign®, however, is completely removable. This is why Invisalign® is highly seeked out for its esthetic purposes such as during social occasions. Imagine smiling without any metal in the mouth! Because there is no wire to complicate daily oral cleaning, Invisalign® is more ideal for daily brushing and flossing.
